Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I developed a deep affinity for the oceans, and it was the local population of killer whales that sparked my lifelong love affair with cetaceans. As a child, my admiration for this species led me to join the chorus of demand to ‘free Willy’, the captive orca named Keiko, and return him to his ocean home. I followed this monumental effort closely, and it reaffirmed my passion for dolphins and their protection. I have since dedicated my life to education, activism, and promoting the conservation, stewardship, and freedom for all cetaceans.
