I am passionate about ocean conversation and have a particular love for cetaceans and pinipeds. I worked as a teacher in international schools and studied a masters‘ degree focusing on how to engage young people with the sustainable development goals (SDGs). This led me to learn more about ocean issues around SDG 14, Life Under Water, and later, to explore responsible whale and dolphin watching as an avenue for encouraging the public to engage with ocean protection issues. I love learning and researching about various cetacean species and have also built up knowledge through whale watching with WCA partners in the Azores, Iceland and the Orkney Islands. In my spare time, I am also a long term volunteer with an environmental conservation charity.
